In this series of beginner guides we tackle all you need to know about the game. Today we move into guide nº2 : building and technology focus!

For Part 1, we start with buildings! Your city is composed of different types of buildings , each serving their own purpose. However, some buildings play a bigger part in allowing you to grow faster.

Your Castle is the main building focus. Why? Your current castle level dictates the level all other buildings can reach. Let's say your Castle is lvl 26, then all your other buildings can only be, at max, level 26. For them to be upgraded to 27 - your castle would need to be upgraded first :)

To have a fast paced growth, focused only on getting to those important moments in the game (like unblocking Tier 4 troops at castle + troop building level 30, for example), what you want to do is solely focus on upgrading the buildings that are required to upgrade your castle.

How do you know which buildings are required? Well simple way

is to click on that "i" button , and it will give you information on which are the requirements for the castle upgrade. The image below shows that I need to upgrade my Wall and Academy to level 8, so I can start Castle level 9 upgrade(Image 1).

If you click on the yellow button with an arrow, you will be taken to the Wall upgrade menu, and there you can see what you need to do in order to upgrade your Wall(Image 2). Here we see that the Wall upgrade needs the Training Grounds to be upgraded first. Repeat this process, untill all requirements for the Castle are done, and you can start upgrading it!

Here is the full description of what's required for each level of Castle upgrade!

Important thing to remember is that the Wall and the #1 and/or #2 buildings have their own requirements, like shown below. So just navigate the "i" button and the yellow arrow to keep track of the right buildings to upgrade, and you'll be breezing! #1 and #2 Buildings Requirements

Ok, we've done the big talk about the Castle. Now what?

For those that want to be powerful and have the fighting power ASAP, the main focus (besides Castle) is making sure that these buildings are always at the max possible:

• Troop Buildings (Bowmen, Spearmen, Cavalry and Shieldmen Barracks)

• Tower of Knowledge

• Academy

These will provide you with access to new power sources, like higher level technology in the Academy, better skills from Tower of Knowledge and upgraded tier troops from the Barracks.

So, in a simple way the priority goes :

1. Castle

2. Troop Barracks

3. Tower of Knowledge

4. Academy

5. Resource Buildings

Extra Sauce:

You can hire extra building slots (building contracts)in the Gem Shop(gems) or in the Alliance Shop (alliance tokens) These grant you the possibility of having 2 simultaneous building orders. Also, make sure to be part of an active alliance! You can request the Help of your alliance to reduce the building time of your queues.

The game also gives you the possibility to buy a pack that unlocks a permanent building slot, it's called "A Winning Start". This pack is probably the most crucial thing to buy in the game and it also guarantees that you unlock Merlin(with your first purchase). These 2 things are a must! Having 3 building queues available is so impactful, it will boost your growth so much, while also providing you with a FREE Merlin, don't miss out - if you can afford it :)

TL DR: Focus on your castle to make sure you are evolving towards the game breakpoints (like troop tier, extra marches, etc) while also keeping up on troop barracks, academy and tower of knowledge. The game provides you some tools like building contracts(gem shop/alliance shop) and a permanent building queue(pack), get these if you can, they will accelerate your growth so much.
