If you've been playing IK for a while your server has probably been through one of IK main events - Contention of Relics.
Contention of Relics is amazing! It should really be called Contention of Rewards! The value CoR gives to your kingdom is just excellent and with events like KvK it's really in the best interest of a server to make sure everyone gets a piece of the cake!
Let's go through CoR and what it can give you!
These are the rewards for performance in CoR.
Part of these rewards are tied to your alliance performance and the other part to your own performance.
For the alliance part it's measured in "Energy Cubes". Energy cubes can be obtained from killing Chaos Beasts, farming Energy Nodes or generation over time, with the occupation of Relics inside Forbidden Zone.
For the individual performance part, it's measured through Honor obtained. During the CoR duration, your honor (gained inside Forbidden Zone) will be counted and in the end whoever got the most during that period will receive rewards.
Depending on the total of energy cubes gathered your alliance and your honor ranking, set amount of "Valor Marks" will be awarded. These marks are then used in the CoR Shop!
(Important note : the alliance "Valor Marks" are handed out to the R6 for later distribuition.)
Below you see the Shop for the CoR Winner. Each position of CoR( 1st, 2nd , 3rd) has a different Shop.
CoR Shop is a key factor in this game, it's a huge source of resources! For F2P, fire march is probably the 2nd march you will be working on - getting Wu and William is critical for this 2nd march to work. So far, i've been able to max Wu (with the help of Market) and currently working on William.
Even if you are 2nd or 3rd, the shop still offers philosophers stones or Ashoka/Frederik fragments.
Now, how does one become the Winner of CoR?
The rules for being crowned King are the following:
The King has one "Forbidden Zone Sovereign" skin to give out to any member of the alliance that was crowned the CoR winner (for that rotation) as well as Gifts to distribute along the alliance. Again, we have a huge value being added and shared with the alliance and, thus, making the server grow.
As if all these gifts aren't enough, being King also comes with a few perks :) Like buffs! These are the available "Royal Orders" that give buffs to your Kingdom. These buffs can be helpful clearing out events or even during wars!
On top of all of this, there is still one thing, one sweet, sweet thing!
The special nodes that spawn after the CoR Winner is announced! Special resource sites appear in the Forbidden Zone and they give gold and speedups, have a look!
With the introduction of KvK and the need for a server to unite and fight it is mandatory that the server manages it's growth the best they can. Roll your sleeves up and start discussing how you can manage CoR to the server's benefit! The value of CoR is just hugeeeeeeee!!! Make sure you take advantage of it! This is all for today!
